Reverse camera modifications

OK, one for Daveo I think, or maybe Wiggs.

So the standard reverse camera (2007 model) works OK but it can't see the towball. Only LR could design something that badly but meh, it is what it is.

So, is there a way of adding a second camera in the bumper which can see the hitch and then switch between the 2 cameras as needed?

I could use the venturecam but by the time it's up and running I could have got in and out a dozen times. It has to rank amongst the most useless accessory ever but never mind.

So, can it be done? Probably. How easy is the main question I guess.

Cheers fella.

Dom.

yes you can, i may still have the link, its a switcher unit that will take two camera inputs and uses a 12v trigger so you can have it triggered of the reversing lights or just introduce a switch line to press and it will bring up that camera. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

you could always replace your camera with an after market one that can be adjusted.
here is a 3 camera switch

Cheers Dave. Bow down Bow down

EDIT: Actually, I was also going to ask if there will be any issues to watch out for regarding screen resolution? I recall trying to play external DVD through the RSE and got distorted pictures due to different resolutions.

Are there any cameras which are known to definitely work with the 2007 touch screen please?

the only thing to watch out for is it may be NSTC, i know the early tv tuners used a nstc camera but i think you are safe to go for PAL on the later unit, when you talk different res, it will only affect picture size, unless you are taking about PC's or alike when the screen cant cope with the high res output of a PC. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Reverse Camera on its way out - Any Ideas (2007 TDV8 Vogue)

Hi Daveo and Lads.

SatNav has already Sh&t itself and is about as useful as a moustache on a supermodel. Mapping works, but won't take a GPS fix. Banging Head

Now my Reverse Camera is going on the fritz in progressive stages..... Big Cry
1. went really bad in low light
2. went pretty bad in daylight
3. screen is distorted with general horizontal waves through it, and very dark

Screen seems OK in other modes (Radio, Settings Screen, etc.)

Does anyone know if it is just likely to be the Camera, or another control unit looking for a permanent holiday?

If it is the camera, does anyone know of an aftermarket replacement that is more or less a straight forward replacement?

Thanks
