Battery question - 2010 Gel version

OK Chaps, a question if I may be so bold, aimed at anyone with one of the newer Gel batteries as fitted to 2010 and up models.

Is anyone able to supply me the dimensions please? I want to see if this would fit a 2007 but it's not immediately obvious.

And yes, this is because of a flat battery this morning, which wouldn't have been a major issue had the bonnet cable not snapped when I was about to stick the jump leads on. Thankfully Dan came to the rescue again. New cable on its way to me.

Bonnet cable is a 10minute job fella Smile

Go the ECP route and get the bosch battery. The gel ones are going to be MUCH more pricey! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Probably will do that Will.

the bonnet cable though, does it pass through the 1st latch and then go to the 2nd? Or is it only to the 1st one? Canna see without taking bits off.

Ta

It goes from the pull handle, through a locked on grommet into the bulkhead, then up the bulkhead into the scuttle tray area and along the wing side of the suspension turret into a black cylinder about 3" long that splits invaribly from the side facing down(levers upwards) so unhook it form the wing and use a thin blade screw driver or a table knife(bluntest one you have like a kids one) and then split the two catches and you'll see it in there. Should pop out easy enough Smile

Pull back through, maybe attaching some string if you want, then tie string to the end and pull back through after really lubing up the grommet for a good seal Smile

I didnt use string as i could recall the route taken but the longest part is the spliting of the box, and then the unscrewing of the handle, then getting the large peice of trim wiggled off. IT DOES COME OUT WITHOUT BREAKING but dont bend it too much and maybe hold break and accelerator pedal down for more room Smile

take some pics please and i'll write up a wiki guide if we haven't already got one Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
