Leaking Rear Washer repair tip

Just fitted the oil seal to my rear washer per the excellent Wiki instructions [http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic9924.html#end]. This all works a treat now and rear window is now clean however so briefly. A couple of observations/tips for anyone repeating this exercise:
1) Using a sharp chisel (rather than simply drilling them out) to remove the heat welded lugs of the black nylon hose connector leaves more material to aid refitting. Drill smaller 3mm holes in this for the self tappers.
2) The above nylon fitting does not have much of a seating on the wiper body so some silicone sealant on the seating face helps ensure it all remains water tight.

Otherwise an excellent set of instructions which gets a £120+ wiper motor assembly replacement fixed for about £1.50

Exellent, the timing of these tips is perfect, as the seal for mine should be with me on tuesday.

Thumbs Up

Regards, Luke
