"55" VSE TD6 to facelift or not?

Chaps, i have a customer who has a particularly nice 55 plate Java black VSE TD6 with two tone Jet/Ivory interior RSE having covered 60K and been looked after by us for the past 4 yrs...

Now is the car a better seller/buy if 2010 facelifted? It has 20" 10MY> wheels already and is a really really nice base vehicle...

Prices would be £17K or £21K respectively...

What do you guys think please?

I suppose it depends if he wants to sell it or keep it. If he is keeping it and just wants it to look newer then fine. If its for selling soon then it comes down to maths. Personally, I would consider just using the money towards a newer FFRR. But, if it has been a good reliable car they might want to keep it.... Previously..

No No, i have the choice of purchasing the car as he has now bought a 10MY TDV8 and wants me to dispose of this one for him...

I assume sell prices quoted but just checking. Facelifted TD6 are now harder to sell over £20k due to TDV8's now being available at that money.

I would say that your best keeping it standard, possibly swap the wheels back to some standard ones, evben TDV8 19's as the ride improvement is worth it alone for a test driver.

The money spent on a facelift will not really be recouped and can always be offered to a potential buyer as part of the sale for xxxx amount of coins Smile

Just my 2p mind Smile why put your back out doing the work if its not needed? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Give any prospective buyer choice then if it still turns a reasonable profit then I would go either way. Confused Very Happy

I've been hunting for my car for a long time. I went up and down the length of the country a few times to look at rubbish that was described as 'clean' or 'immaculate'. In this mix I considered a few facelifted cars. One thing that always put me off was the fact that some had perhaps been done due to accident damage. It amazed me how few owners who had facelifted took pics of the car before, during and after, to show that this wasn't the case.

I agree with the other comments ref the availability now of the tdv8 cars. I would have thought that would mean less premium money for facelifted cars. Personally I'd always prefer to buy a good standard car and then get someone like you to do a conversion Craig. Especially if it's a car I'm going to be keeping for a few years....

I'll wait until I get the right S/C car with LPG before I send you it! Somehow I think the td6 is a gap filler...really missing my V8!
