dog transporting

Quick question, I have a 6 month old lab and want to know who has a fixed dog guard and who uses the roll up cargo net instead? if you have a fixed dog guard how do you also fit in the folding parcel shelf (if you do). I want to have the boot covered when the dog is not in there and have a secure place for the dog when she is. "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

I've got a lab an did use the role up one, but she never thought about jumping over so took it out. Also don't use the parcel shelf as when it was folded back the dog didn't have to much space and it flapped about a bit hitting the dog on occasions. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

thanks for the feedback - i was wondering if there was an accessory that replaced the folding parcel shelf with a pull out roller type? that way I could have the boot covered but easily open it up when the dog gets back in. "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

Have a very excitable 18 month old lab. I don't use a dog guard just fold the parcel shelf back. Never fallen over on him? I do have a fitted boot liner which I added elastic eyes to to hook onto the cargo hooks. So far kept carpet perfect. Lloyd Barnes

Ive been using the pull up cargo net with our 12 month alsatian/lab/collie cross ( size of a pit pony) and he doesn't try to go around it. But ive seen a hatch bag on the net for £79.99 i think that may save te boot a bit more

I've got two golden retrievers and the rollup dog guard.
They're 7 years old so not quite so adventurous. I had a D3 before with the full dog guard but I find this one to be so much better and versatile. when the dogs are in the back the parcel shelf is left at home and then replaced when the car is used for normal use. Where as with the D3 the load area cover could not be fitted all the while the dog guard was in place. The dog guard came with the car so it was an added bonus.

Don't forget guys that the dog guard isn't just to stop an inquisitive dog from clambering into the car but also to stop 30 odd kilos of dog from impacting with your head/neck in the event of an accident - not good for you or your dog!

For boot liners get the 1 from 'UK custom covers' £67.98 off the bay. Do NOT get the 1 from Towequipe, they are Censored , do not fit as well and cost more.

Here here, +1 from me... I wont take Ty in the car without the guard... Im in the motor trade and have seen the damage a dog can do when loose in a car in an accident situation... Have a customer who's son was killed that way...

Intead of the shelf, why not tint the rear windows? Thats what ive done (as i have 6/7 seats in my boot and never know when i'll need them) that way your dog will stay cooler, and no one can see what you are carrying either...

Came from the Bay. Loads on there and the one I have is XL. Type in 'soft dog crate' and there's one on the first page for £37 delivered. Regards
