"Check Brake Pads" I am getting this error message every time I start or stop the engine, been happening for a month now, and I have just changed both front and rear brake pad wires with no effect. Neither one was worn to the point they would have caused a error message on the dash, however this is a new problem to me and I wonder if anyone has any pointers???

I'm not an expert here, never had the issue, but I do understand if the sensor wires have not been fitted back in correctly, you get the message come up..........

Have you double checked they are all back in OK.

2 things which in the past have created simlar problems for me on brake pad warning

One was a dirty connector at the car end, so i was plugging my shiny new wire into a cruddy socket.

The other was some oil on the connector causing an odd short circuit that was at the strt of a 400 mile journey, beeping at me all the way ! 2011 Stornaway Grey 5.0SC Autobiography

I will have a check tomorrow for a bad connection in the plugs, apart from that I will just have to get used to the "bong" everytime I stop the engine.

Most likely a broken sensor wire somewhere in the circuit

Did you buy genuine leads of cheapy ones? There could be your answer... Failing that get it plugged in... Never be too careful with brakes pal...

Thanks for Your help.... Problem has cured itself! Hopefully my flickering oil light gets the same idea!
