No telephone option listed on display

Probably a dumb question, but being a new RR owner that's no surprise!

I thought that having found the telephone loom in the rear of the vehicle and wiring for a mike in the overhead console, this meant I should have the ability to retro-fit a BMW bluetooth ULF module and hey presto, I have telephone!

However, I am now wondering if this is the case, as my display (see image below) does not show "Telephone" as an option. Does this mean I am wasting my time fitting the ULF module? Or, will this option automatically appear as and when I correctly install a module? At the moment, I have the letters "DSP" where I expected there to be "Telephone".

Any tips/help would be appreciated as I find this all a bit confusing Embarassed

Cheers

Dirty Harry, The option won't appear until teh ULF is installed and working as I ubderstand it. I'm just going through the same process. Microphone installed, ULF bought, just waiting for the plug to arrive at my local Audi dealer to re-pin the connector.
If you have the loom at teh back and the mic cable at the front, you should be good to go.

NOTE:- Do not plug the ULF directly into the loom on your FF. The pinouts are different and it needs adapting which, I am told is dead easy. I do hope so as I will be having a go on Wednesday evening.

There are far more knowlegable folks than myself who I'm sure will chip in, and welcone to the forum Smile

Cheers
Alex

Hi Alex

Comforting news! Thanks for confirming that, especially as I have already bought the module, mike and antenna! I've been sent the instructions to re-wire the 54-pin connector and am going to have a stab at it right now. I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't be wasting my time, but it looks like I won't be Very Happy

Cheers

Greg

Hi chaps.

Done this already..........

Telephone will indeed not appear in the display menu until the ULF has been identified on the ibus.

That is of course, if the ULF has not previously been plugged into the 54 pin plug without the rewire - that blows fuse 22 in the fuse box under the cd changer in the glovebox, and no matter what you do, Telephone won't appear till this fuse is changed and its 7.5 amp...........

I double checked my wiring twice, only to find that fuse blown...........

Thumbs Up

Let me know how you get on Greg. PM me again if you have issues........
