Last year I was charged c£500 for the Rangie (4.2S/C). This year it had gone up to £1100 (!) for the 4.4TDV8. Price comparison site got a quote of £600. I phoned the old one because they were saying they were going to renew automatically. They chap I spoke to offered to see if he could get close. I laughed. He said "yeah, you're right: no way I'll get close to that"

Slightly off topic, but home insurance just came in too. £581 ! best offer scouring the meerkats is £159. World gone mad! Just saved £422  .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember
