How do I remove interior door handles?

I've been working away tonight and experimenting with some carbon fibre wrap for the wood parts inside the car. I've never done it before, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. To be honest, the hardest part was stripping it all down.

Can anyone tell me how to remove the silver parts on the door handles, not the actual metal pull parts, but the plastic parts with the crappy silver paint that always seems to come off. Do I need to take the full door card off, or can I clip it off from the front. I don't want to just rush in and snap any brackets etc.

Mark.

Car is 05/06 TD6.

it'll be a door card off, then the handle will be held from the other side of the door card.

the door card is not difficult to remove ... takes a couple of minutes.

tricky part is refitting the trim seal along the top which touches the window. V8 or else ...

If its just the door handle surround ( silver plastic type) then they just pull off. No need to remove door card.

Yeah, it's just the plastic surround that's painted in that really cheap looking mat-silver.

So I just lever around the edges and pull? I hate doing these types of parts......

Yep - I used a small flat bladed screwdriver to get some purchase and then with fingers pull gently. I started at the thin end and worked my way around each clip.

The first time is nerve racking but then it gets easier.

Yes they just pull off, no need to remove door card. There is video on powerful uk website. Search for replacement part and its there showing you how to remove. Just screwdriver to start them they pull of. Minute a door.

Thanks guys....I know what you mean about nerve wracking...I had a pry last night, but gave up as I had a vision of it all just cracking and breaking. I'll check out the video now.
