MK 4 sat nav problems

Hi all
I upgraded my old sat nav to the mk4 about a year ago and it's been fantastic,

Off to derby on Saturday i was about 45 mins in to the journey when the screen decides to go blank
Then reboot its self as if I'd just got in the car????

This happened about 6 times in a row, now it will not load the sat nav but doesn't say can't read disc etc

Just please wait???

its not a copied disk is it ?

or non gen firmware ?

i know its been working fine, but i have read about lockups and reboots with non gen stuff...........

perhaps the laser is on it's last legs ?

i'd clean the disk or try another from somewhere as the next step......... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

if possible try another disc, this will determine if the disc or the nav unit is faulty.. ... - .- -.

I had a similar problem one time that a battery disconnect - reconnect seemed to clear up.

Update...

Tried to eject the DVD tonight but would not come out
Tried all 3 ways but no go.
So I whipped it out flipped the lid off and loosened the drive motor
And manually wound the disc out slowly.
Popped it back in the car and it came on as norm and asked for a disc
So i put the copied DVD back in, only to a hear a very loud spinning noise
Disc out and back in again but still loud noise

So I popped the lid off while still powered up and had a little fiddle
While the noise was present.
Found it to be part of the drive rubbing on the edge of disc
A little tweek with small screw driver and hey presto

Fully working silent sat nav also seams faster than before.

Can't understand it as no ones been near it?? RANGE ROVER 04 TD6
