Had a drag race today …

I was sitting at traffic lights on a dual carriageway and a x6 pulled up beside me. so I put it in sport mode and we both go for it,he gets a slightly better start and by 75mph Whistle he was just over a car length in front. I'm not sure what engine it had etc etc but anyway the BMW won Sad

the x6 probably had a 3 litre dieselnwith a eight speed box, and of course they are much lighter. ... - .- -.

Quite surprised it got away, still at least they're hideously ugly...
Maybe they were designed to go really fast to stop onlookers being sick when they accidentally look at one?

2015 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Aruba

about a year ago, an X6 and I booted it off a roundabout up north ... the X6 won, but not by much. Puts a smile on my face when you hit 4th on full throttle, the 4.4 bmw petrol has a real growl V8 or else ...

I can confirm the 4.4 TDV8 has the better of the X6, but it's still close! On the straight the FF is faster, around bends (roundabouts) the X6 wins. I tested this on the A43 between the M40 and M1. Cool Current MY2020

2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

Funny that I had a bit of chase with a q7 tdi I thought I would waste it but not at all againts the 4.4 v8 petrol. Was on sports and it was just getting the edge.

I dont know what engine size it had but it sure did go !!

So Gaz, if you want a fast car, get the TDV8 not the 4.4 petrol! Rolling with laughter

That explains why a tdv8 is much more expensive compared to the 4.4 petrol Whistle

BMW X6 XDrive 40d 3.0 Ltr 306 BHP 0-60 6.5 sec
Range Rover 4.4 TDV8 309 BHP 0-60 7.5 sec

That would explain why it was so close.

If it was the BMW XDrive 30d 245 BHP 0-60 7.5 sec, I would have whopped it.

I think I'm right in thinking the BMW diesels have a twin turbo and having owned a 535d and 635d with twin turbos, I know how quick they are. Current MY2020

Given the OP's first three letters of their forum monicker that may perhaps describe his eating habits then maybe a more svelte driver may have come out better Wink
