Jus read a post in which vogue commente about residuals in more stable economc times wiping considerable amounts of showroom prices. - £10-£15K I think

I'm still looking for a 2 year old vehicle at the moment and a decent low mileage one seems to be around the £45k mark have seen a few at around £42K but generally values seem to be on the up at the moment. Is this the general view?

In the same boat as you and looking to get a 2 year VSE and have had an eye on LR prices since 07. I can recall Jeremy Clarkson stating that he bought a 18 month old 57 plate VogueSE with 15k miles for a "smidgen over £30k"!

We seem to be a million miles away from these prices and the view from my local dealer this weekend, is that 2nd hand values have reached a high plateau in his view. Got no idea if this is correct or not, given its comes down to simple demand and supply, but 2nd hand prices are certainly inflated at present and getting a decent spec car at the right price point is hard, given the lack of supply.

Just need 2nd values to soften, but not holding my breadth.

I agree. Prices seem high. I was told back in October to wait till Spring 2010 for prices to fall but glad I didn't.

With prices the way they are it makes me even more happy to have got mine for the price I did.

Yeah I read Clarkson in the Times and I still cant believe it - a smidgeon over £30K to me means £31/32K - you need £10K more than that now

I suppose the only glimmer of satisfaction is that my RRSport has stuck quite well in the values as well - I guess I'm gonna lose about £7K per year on that.

Have recently sold my 69,000 miles, immaculate, 1 owner 2007 '56' plate Supercharged with deployable steps for £27,650 on Ebay. Sounds very cheap but was still £8,500 more than the supplying dealer offered in part ex for a similar new car.
Prices of the 2010 cars seem to be holding up very well as you cannot buy the cars off the shelf at the moment. Try ringing 20 garages asking to buy a new Autobiography, there doesn't seem to be any availability at all.

Well I took a deep breath and went for it - cant wait but hoping to sell the RRSport before I have to accept the trade in. Buckingham blue with Jet, privacy glass, side steps, SC vents and grill.

Price was riduculous and no movement at all from the stealer. Hope she'll live up to it

Price were at the lowest 18months ago, since then used prices have crept back up across the board on bigger engined cars.

I bought low with my R32 and sold it 1year later and £1500 more!

The girlfriends 350z also is booking at £1500 more than we paid 9months ago! TDV8 HST Sport **Current**

Supply and demand ,there is very little good stock up hear for sale .
The other day I was at Guy Salmon in Coventry and they had nearly a dozen for sale the next day I was at Taggert's or Lookers in Glasgow and they had about two.

I think a lot of the dealers don't want to tie up large sums of money in Rangies though, when for the same money they could have four freeloaders on the forcourt.

I've noticed an indy round here that used to have 5 or 6 L322's now has one if your lucky. 

I have started to study the 'form' in RR prices before taking the plunge.
During my studies I noted a car on the LR website with the reg BV07*** - this was a car I had seen advertised privately on AT. I assumed the seller was trying to sell before trading the car in with a dealer.
I phoned him up and the car had gone but it gave me an interesting insight to the margins the dealers are working on. He said she was just out of warranty, needed 4 tyres and an MOT. He was advertising for £37,000 but someone came claiming to represent a client and offered £35,000 so he accepted.
The car is now on the LR website for a tad under £39,000!
I doubt it cost a dealer £1000 to apply a warranty (would not doubt if LR offer that for free to encourage buying through the network), the 120point check will not cost much, 4 tyres...£800 trade?, MOT/valet - cheap enough. Supaguard - £400 but I know the kit costs them about £25 and whatever time it takes to apply so good return on that if someone is daft enough to pay for it.
So assuming they can turn the car around for no more than £1500, that is quite a margin to work with.
Seems there are deals out there...
