Wind noise at speed from around windscreen..

Hi, i wonder if anyone can help, ive noticed a bit of a wind noise coming from what seems like the back of the dash/bottom of windscreen area when at speed (over 50mph) does anyone know where this could be coming from? also ive noticed when the bonnet is lifted to the back of the engine where the scuttle panel is there are 3 tabs sticking up, are these meant to be like this? or has my scuttle been possibly removed and not put back correctly. Thanks

i had that. its the plastic scuttle panel under the wipers vibrating.

there is a bead of sealant full width that can get disturbed. I pressed it down etc and eventually it stopped.

could also be the A Pillar finishers , but doubt it

tape the glass to the scuttle at the bottom of the screen and see if it resolves the issue.

Tabs sound OK, bonnet seal drops in there........... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Guys another thin to check is the AIR CON.
I thought for days I had a wind noise until I turned my air con fan off, then I realised it was just the wind noise coming out of the Screen Vents.

It only has to be on fan level 2 to make a noise.
And if you have your air con on Auto mode, it moves around from feet to face to demist vents and that can definately make a noise you're thinking is coming from the outside. L322 4.4 Vogue MY03 - Her name is Bulletproof .... you already know she's not Smile

Removing the scuttle and placing some more silicone sealant along it and putting back will fix it once and for all, but I just pressed mine down and jiggled it about (!!) and eventually the noise stopped. So you don't have to remove the whole thing if you are lucky.

I have also read that the plastic distorts over time, and fitting a new scuttle also cures it, but I'd imagine it would, as the sealant will have been redone.....

Its much better without that wind noise. Was a bit embarassing when I first got the car, and people wanted a ride in it !!

One of my A Pillar finishers is a bit loose, which causes a noise - any helpful hints/tips to sort this?

Cheers! l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

I just replaced the clips that hold it on. You can get to them when the front door is open.

Some of the old ones (back bit) do tend to drop down into the frame of the car though.........not an issue. You can't hear rattling from them or anything. Just a heads up.......... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Must check mine as I had the windscreen replaced a couple of weeks ago & now it's making a hell of a racket at about 60-70 MPH. Range Rover 4.4 V8 Vogue
