The reason for reducing the tank won't be strictly for weight it will be for CO2 emissions - what VED group does the TDv6 engine fall into - makes a big difference to company cars.

Don't joke - someone from LR was quoted as saying this was a possibility in Evo magazine. How to kill a reputation. |

The eD4 version of the Evoque is reputed to be selling so well that it was confirmed this week that the TD4 will be discontinued in favour of the eD4 - no more orders are being accepted for TD4's as of this week............ In the UK the TD4 was not available in all models or as an automatic yet on the continent they could have an automatic version and a Dynamic as well 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes |

Interesting they are fitting the smaller tank to the 6 cylinder. But I can't see the issue.

For me the issue would be that you would expect to go further on a full tank in the SDv6 than in the SDV8. This would'nt be the case with the above percentages as you would travel a shorter distance for the full tank than the sdv8 would do.

Yes, but it would probably bring the "New Range Rover is 420kg lighter!" headlines down to under 400.

At most it would add 5kg for the tank size increase and any extra gubbins for it.

Plus 20 litres and you are looking at around 25kg (ish) as all facts and figures (including emmissions) are based on kerbweight which includes a full tank of fuel. As you say, they could have left it as an extra or something. Like the large washer bottle... ?? |

Same here. Can't see the point in half filling, only means you have to go back in half the time, so you actually waste fuel by doing 2 trips to the pump!
