Black Smoke under hard acceleration

Hey guys got a -'07 3.6TDV8 Range. I normally do 3000 miles a year tops its mainly used as a second commuter car for me to work. And 95% of my driving is just through the city. Yesterday I was on the motorway for around 5 mins and I put my foot right down car went above 70mph and some dark fumes came out the exhaust and then a warning came up on the dash "Check engine system/malfunction" or something similar. Now did three short journeys since not had it again. I figured it could be because I dont really drive it on the motorways so I took it out today for a good blast on the motorway. Still noticed when I put my foot down at speed say 60mph+ there is some darkish stuff coming out the exhaust (I think but its not something I can compare with before so it could be normal - nothing too much but more then when I am just accelerating normally) cant say I have noticed any performance degradation. Just wondering anything to worry about?

Thanks in advance

Portugal 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue

Had something similar.

It was the turbo pipes that were cracked thus giving erroneous messages to the ECU.

Sounds like you have burst a hose.

Good news is they are fairly cheap to replace, and takes around 2 minutes to swap Thumbs Up
