i think most couriers will want them packed/crated , basically for easier transport...'parcels to go' for instance wanted me to put a tyre [no wheel] into a bag...

is this for dans tyres/wheels? ... - .- -.

Surely you can see the point of packaging wheels so they won't be damaged?

Why would you want to ship a wheel without protecting it?

Overfinch sent my new set with cardboard on front and foam to back held in place by plastic bands - I reused the card and foam but used cling film wrap instead of plastic bands when I asked md to deliver my old set with no problems Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I can on the outside, yes Martin.

But to box the whole wheel / tyre combo?

It would be a pain to lift / carry

Wheel carrier, for instance - recommend bubble wrap/card/black bags with large delivery address label attached

I think it is required more for the address label location than anything else, as a black bag / piece of bubble wrap is not going to protect it that much.

@ Craig as above and it most sellers can't be bothered
@ Stan Nope - Les Pes'

I use Fred Morris Transport and am a very happy customer. They are always on time and most likely they offer the best prices around.

Also they work 7/7 and deliver throughout Europe at excellent rates.

The point is, they will take the wheels as they are (they may ask you to do a written request, talk to them)

I've sent a few wheels and received a few and plastic wrapping is always best, even a cheap roll of cling films will give them some protection. It does make moving them easier as so many are dirty even during transport that bagging and box helps lot Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Any time I've sold wheels and tyres, I tape a piece of cardboard over the front face (and the back if I have enough).
I then put them in a black bin bag (or 2, depending on the size of the wheel) and tape it up. Never had any complaints, Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I used Shiply. They're a reverse auction courier site.

You enter the details or eBay reference and interested couriers bid for the job.

Worked very well for me when I bought a spare 20" wheel and tyre for my FF a few months ago. Si. <This is my name.
