Buying a 56 Plate 2006 56 Vogue SE - whats it worth?

Hi all,

Looking for some advice please.. as per previous post.. I am looking for a Range Rover Vogue or Vogue SE in black with preferably ivory or cream leather and good spec and under 40k miles.
A colleague has a 2006 56 Vogue SE with the right spec and 30k miles.. Although.

Most panels need some paint, been keyed!! not awful but needs doing
Every wheel needs a refurb - although might buy 22" Overfinch supersports anyway Wink
The ivory leather has got black marks where the drivers bum/belt rub
Warranty has just expired.

Given all the above, what should i pay for this car? and then get the work done, add warranty etc..

Appreciate any opinions if its worth it or just get one from a dealer with everything done!

Regards

Nick

Sorry to say but personally i would get one from a dealer or reputable car dealer , Getting the car keyed i know would not have been your colleagues fault,

But if every wheel needs refurbed what has he been hitting and at what speed and damage to underlying parts of the vehicle.

Plus if he has not bothered to keep the interior clean, to me it just says " i dont give a toss about my car it gets me from A TO B "

Just my tuppence worth ............ Thumbs Up

Thanks, i do appreciate what you are saying.. But he does live on a busy back street and the curbing is not exsessive and certainly wouldnt expect anything to be out due to it.. especially on a tough off roader??

Also, having given considerable thought.. how many cars come in to a dealer like this and then sorted?

That's where his will end up if i dont buy and then how much would i pay on the forecourt?

I am keen to know what a dealer would give vs retailing after the work

Cheers

Nick

Clear the finance for him at £32800.

Really cant decide..

They appear to be going from 36-40k at this level, with mileage etc..

Guess i need to spend £1500 and maybe buy a warranty? LR has offered extended cover.

Thoughts?

I would not buy that car (full stop)

Have you seen the Black TDV8 for sale for less that 33k: http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic1810.html

Is your colleagues car a TDV8? If not I would go for a TDV8 even with a few more miles....

Grey TDV8 Vogue with Parchment/Piano Interior - what more do you want!

I think this colour combo is about the best available although I have buckingham/parchment/piano Exclamation

Yes it is a TDV8 with 30k on the clock.. cant find one with that mileage for less than 36k but most dealers are at 38-40k for an SE.

I do like the grey but last 5 cars have been black.. thinking the Overfinch supersports too Smile

Low £30k's IMHO. I hate cars that have been ignored/abused - they are always the ones that keep going wrong...

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue

What about this one?

2007/07 Vogue in Stornoway Grey with Parchment leather. 37K miles on the colour. 1 year warranty. 35995. 12 month factory warranty. I am sure you could haggle a couple of grand off of that price

http://services.2ndbyte.com/mediaservice/pdf/-926796066.pdf

When I was looking last August, I found a 2007/07 TDV8 Vogue SE in Tonga Green with 70K miles for 30K but the car was not loved and the broken windows theory will probably apply.
