While the fatty is going to be repaired over the next week or so im looking at getting a temp car.

Can you not get a friend to be the registered keeper and you borrow it for a month? Therefore you can drive it on your own 3rd party insurance as it's a borrowed car? Probably fraud, but since the insurance industry are allowed to get away with it ...

Does it? This has often come up in discussion on the Interwebs - and no-one has a definitive answer. I don't think it does, as it's covered by yours (to road traffic act requirements) while you are in charge of (includes of course when you park it on the road as you are still responsible). |

Will....i would imagine that your insurer might allow you to transfer your current cover to another vehicle whilst yours is being repaired?? Presumably the repairing companies insurance covers the car whilst in their care... |
