I know this has been semi-discussed in other posts but haven't had a definite answer yet.

Thanks for reply, i only have a little doubt due to a lot of stuff on Internet suggesting limited functionality of the new style lightning connector with 'dock' accessories.

Sorry for the hijack, but does this kit connect the phone to the roof antenna? Just looking for a way of bumping up the signal reception.

As far as I know, there's no way of connecting an iPhone to an external antenna. |

Actually, there is, but it is not extremely easy to do especially for later models. If you get the official BMW cradle kit provided as a replacement for the 02-04 L322 nokia phones and get a BMW iPhone 'snap-in adapter', you will have an inductive coil in the cradle that boosts the signal strength through the spoiler antenna / shark fin very effectively. There is a list of parts on the now defunct L322.com site which can still be accessed through the internet archive: http://web.archive.org/web/20101029172720/..._KITS.html For the interior facelift models(07>), you either mount the snap-in adapter directly in the center slot in the upper center console cubby (entails having leads soldered directly to the board in the snap-in adapter) or you have to do major modification to the cubby and the cradle adapter. RRC 2Dr, RRC 4Dr, P38, and 2 L322s (wife thinks I'm nuts - prob right, too) |

Not certain if it answers the question fully but my 30-pin to lightning adapter works fully with my '12MY. There were some reports that on some iPod dock devices that there was music but no track control.

Any news? I bought the LR iPod kit anyway, as it was a bargain I couldn't let slip away. Just hoping it fully functions with the 'lightning to dock' connector. Once I know for sure I will order the connector and start stripping down the dashboard / glovebox in my FF Had it, loved it! 2007 Vogue SE TDV8 Stornoway Grey / Ivory Climatic Seats, RSE, AFS, Deployable steps, iPod kit. |
