well i don't know if that was the right title but it's the polite one anyway!!

as a result of the flooding this past week, i now have a few issues with the FFRR. There are no lights on and the computer still says "OK" so that is something, but my headlights are so condensated its unreal. I have a squeeling noise coming from the rear offside by the sounds of it when things warm up and i am still drying the carpets out as the water entered the car..

has anyone any ideas on the headlight and squeeling issues. will the headlights dry out in time or do they need to be stripped out and dried properly.

could the squeeling be either a brake issue or worse a bearing?

any ideas appreciated.

with the head lights i would take of the screw on access caps, this should let more air in to dry them out, what you dont want is the green house effect to happen and the condenation to build up and up. you could even set up a hair dryer and get some warm air flowing around the insides. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

when you use the hair dryer let the light cool down back to the ambiant temp before putting the caps on or they will suck in moisture as they cool. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

If you take them off maybe just block te lower breather holes as well.

Silly question but how deep were you wading or was all this while parked up as I'd be worried about plenty of other stuff if water has got in to your cabin...

To dry it out get a cheap dehumidifier and stand it in the boot and leave it on overnight nice warm car in the morning mind  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I took my headlight off and used a hair drier, 10 minute job. I wasn't wading, just hit a huge puddle at high speed.

the water wasn't that deep, but i was driving through it as it came from right to left and the sheer volume and speed of it just came right up over the bonnet and soaked the old girl.

at the end of the day i was so annoyed as the A1 was a far better bet, but the highways people shut it and i just wanted to get home after a long day, this being the only other route to my house.

it also came past the door seals, so the rear got wet as well.

god only knows how people not fortunate enough to have a 4x4 were getting through stuff like this.

the FFRR is booked into my local dealers this week for a good look over and to try and figure out what my squeeling is.

if it comes to it i will way up the pros and cons of putting an insurance claim in for flood damage i think. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Wading isn't a problem, I've done plenty of wading that is within the limits of the FFRR and it handles it so well. This was too much water for the car to handle.

There be the problem as the stuff I've seen for this weekend is either low water or high water... Hope the double seals hold but may get some spray on silicone for them to help get a better seal and set interior air to recirc and cover the inlet with wrapping film  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

well had FFRR at dealers yesterday and they said that the headlights were ok and would dry out in their own time, i think i will still get the hair dryer on them when we have a good day to help them along.

my carpets are dry, the bloody heater has been cooking me all week

and the squeeking was the rear shoes sticking on my rear off side.

they are now stripped cleaned and put back together all quiet again...  Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Good news stu

The lights are dead simple to take off. Take them off when your parked up for the night at home and stick them in the airing cupboard should see them fighting fit. Don't forget to stick some silica gels in them once they are dry to stop them from condensating though  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
