Thought it would be a good idea to update my iPhone to iOS6 now the iPod connectivity for my car reports a device error. Bluetooth works ok though. 2019 D5 HSE Lux SDV6 Indus

Also hear I0S 6 is causing problems with Apple's mapping system as they are using Tom Tom now instead of Google Maps , seems to have a few bugs in it just now |

Interesting that TomTom are distancing themselves from the "issues" :-

No problems here with ios6 and connectivity on 2010 I installed all four beta versions of ios6 over the past couple of months and each worked fine when connected to the car and just checked the public release version without any issue. As for the maps just go to google.co.uk/maps and add to home screen, google even have a quick link to do this on their page The same applies for YouTube or download their app separately.

Well my car is a 2012 model, so maybe that is where the problem is. I have the dedicated lead for the iPhone but both my iPad and iPhone now come up as device error. Maybe I'll have to wipe the phone and then re-install. Bum. 2019 D5 HSE Lux SDV6 Indus

Sorry to hear about that Nick. My 11.5MY works fine. As far as I know there were no changes for 12MY in terms of hardware/software for the Head Unit. |

The USB socket is not compatible with iPhones or iPods - unfortunately it has to be used with the Land Rover lead which of course, with the iPhone 5, is not possible! |

Realise the iphone cable is specific. An hour later I have restored IOS6 and hooray my phone now is recognised by the car again. Hoorah. 2019 D5 HSE Lux SDV6 Indus

Can you or anyone else confirm this please. I have ordered and iPhone 5 and appreciate its 'new connector' is not the 30 pin dock cable. I was planning to install the Genuine Land Rover iPod kit at some stage. Is it not possible to plug the iPhone 5 USB into the LR iPod kit via its USB? Has anyone tried an iPhone 5 with the LR iPod kit using the Apple Lightning to Dock adaptor and if so what functionality do you get? Thanks Had it, loved it! 2007 Vogue SE TDV8 Stornoway Grey / Ivory Climatic Seats, RSE, AFS, Deployable steps, iPod kit. |
