What options do you want on a Westminster?

If I was to get a Westminster is there anything thats would be a good addition other than RSE/Privacy and towbar?

Also whats the difference between 7 and 13 PIN options other than 6 PINS to the smart @rses who will no doubt hit me with that??? lol

Cheers

the 12s/n electrics are more universal to older rigs/setups and can easily be adapted to 13 pin as vice versa but if your using older trailors id stick with the 12s/n tbh.

has it got ACC fitted to it??

I've not got a particular car I'm just out shopping but going to probably buy a Westminster or Overfinch type car if possible before end of the month.

But I'm shopping on discount.....I reckon it should be a 60k car!! all smug in my new plug!

You can no longer order new Westminsters with extras, you have to take whatever is out there and meets your spec best.

Got 'my spec' easy enough, but then I didn't want much in the way of extras anyway - basically so long as it was Orkney Grey with an Ivory interior.

I have had side steps fitted though. 2012 FFRR Westminster Orkney / Ivory and absolutely no pimp-glass!

Privacy glass and tow bar were fitted by the dealer as we were struggling to find a suitably spec'd vehicle. The only other option I required was a full sized spare, which was an easily sorted.

The Westminster is a superbly capable car

Yeah I was just taking a demo car or a new one with options, I'm still swaying a little towards the new Cayenne S Diesel but I'd prefer the RR, I guess just the new car round the corner is the onlty pill I'm having to swallow at the moment, and it's a bitter taste sometimes when I look at the new cars details.

I'm only really looking for Privacy, RSE and Towbar. I like the grey, looks cool and black leather inside is probably the car. I#m quite liking the Design pack but at 4k I think an Overfinch spec car is maybe a better purchase, just browsing for a few weeks at the moment, as I don't think I'll buy until next month as I've just bought a little Boat for Loch Lomond so funds have been reduced a few grand by that. If I go for black I'd prefer the sand as Ivory I reckon would be murder with my kids and bikes!! Had it in a sport and it was torture with two black labs!!!!

Getting probably a lowish spec car tbh, whats the dynamic cruise and some braking option all about? I've got a fair few cars to consider probably as Orkney and Black are in abundance, it's just the options. all smug in my new plug!

DCC and the EBA basically keep the car at a set distance from the vehicle in front and slow it down as it slows, then speed up to set CC speed or speed of vehicle infront(whichever is slowest)
The brake assist upto a certain speed in city condition will slam the brakes on if the car in front brakes and you are just reaching the braking distance in wet conditions and it thinks you either havent braked or are not braking hard enough.

It scares you the first time you feel more braking pressure!! but a worthwhile tick to make the car that bit safer and makes life on the motorway for any doing a fair few miles on it worthwhile! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I had the smae thought process as the OP.

That was until I drove the Range Rover. I nearly purchased the Cayenne there and then but thought I would always wonder what the FFRR would have been like if I didn't at least take a test drive. I wasn't bothered about the new model coming in as my thought process conluded I would have development niggles which could mar the ownership experience. I have no patience at the best of times and reocuuring visits to a dealer is not my idea of fun.

Given the cabin is such a glorious place to sit mollified the aspect that the car is superceded and I've never given much traction to what other people think about the latest greatest. At least there is 10 years development in the car i'm driving and when it comes to replacing her, well let's hope all the little character flaws are sorted in the new model.

Take yourself up to Shields, i just collected my new Westminster today and credit where credit is due, I must say that their sales team were excellent and the car was beautifully prepared. To be honest there wasn't a whole lot of options to add, Mup flaps, mirror covers, privacy glass and Scotchguard treatment was all I went for and they were sold at a well discounted price.
