Rental cars in Eire...

Looking to rent a car in early december for a weekend but it has to be able to take 4 average sized adults and a little bit of luggage.

I can get a Ka/Equivalent for about £30 for the whole weekend. Will this be big enough??

We will likely have a 4hr drive at one end and a 2-3hr drive at the other and they will be around 1.0litre which i know will struggle even when empty but meh, doesnt bother me more bothered about all squeezing in!

Anyone got any experience before i head over to the local fraud dealership and have a nosey to maybe save me a trip??

An extra £5 gets me a polo but is there much diff in size?? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

A polo is not that much bigger , better than a Ka i suppose ….

Try these two websites, they are cheaper than going to the rental car agencies directly. Note there can be a big price difference between the two for certain countries (namely Holland and Sweden) as I found out this week !!

As for a Ka, no way you want to sit in one of those for a while with four small guys even. I noticed quite "sizeable" cars are not that much more expensive usually. Suggest Golf/Avensis.

I have booked a Ford Mondeo station (Holland) and Volvo V70 and XC 60 (Sweden) for two adults and two kids. Granted we lug a LOT of luggage around when we travel (usually 4 weeks).

Good hunting Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

After our Discovery died in South Africa we continued our trip in a Polo - 2 adults, 2 kids and ALL the luggage from the Discovery. I was amazed we got it all in.....but it went in and it drove really well! Land Rover Addict

Well a golf UPGRADE is only another £10 more according to the site....

Its a pity the ferries are at such poo times as otherwise it would work out just a little cheaper to take the FF including the fuel(by about £10 PP!)

Quite surprised the flights and all are so cheap to be honest i thought they would be silly money but i guess early december isnt a busy time as people wait for the big holiday..

Cheers guys, guess worst comes to it i'll plump for the golf as its £4 more than a polo! though only a 1.4 petrol im sure i'll run it in gently.... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
