Anyone know this TDV8?

I am in the market for a TDV8 and whilst stuck on a boat offshore Norway have been searching the classifieds everywhere I can think of. On the good old bay of evil, I came across this one. OK, the mileage is a bit high at 80k but it does seem good value for an 08 car. I should be home this week and might go and have a look at it, but at 300 miles each way, thought I would ask here in case anyone has looked at it or to get any thoughts.

Any advice/help gratefully received

Sure it's an SE?

It doesn't have climactic seats. Researching my first Range Rover purchase

Aaah, being a Newbie I had not spotted that. How do you tell the difference (and I guess climactic seats are the heated/cooled ones). Anything else obvious that is missing from SE spec?

Thanks for that Tony, much appreciated. Using LR Products for over 30 years!

I'm not sure its a real Vogue SE. I think it is a Vogue with RSE added to the spec. The headrests are very unique, never seen it done like that before.

It should have air cooled seats and you'd see 2 additional knobs on the lower centre dash either side of the clock.

Aspen coloured seats are pretty rare for this age, I had Aspen in my Tonga TD6. Make sure you are ok with green leather!

By the 08 plate, also the Vogue SE came with the newer style 20" wheels as on mine below. Those alloys have been added, probably to replace the standard 19s.

Having said this it looks very nice, and don't be put off by 80k. Mine is over 80k and is still beautiful to drive. As long as the service history is there it should easily do double that.

You are correct Tony, I have just blown up the picture of the V5C and it is described as a "Range Rover Vogue TDV8" not an SE. Also, I noticed the last keeper signed the book on the 26th June, a long time for it to be sitting around at that price in my mind.

The colour won't be to everyone's taste, maybe that's why it's still not sold

Wheels are VSE standard issue for that timeframe. RSE is genuine, but headrest treatment unusual. No cooled seats says not VSE. But who knows what spec LR were doing then. Should have adaptive Xenons too if it was a VSE if my memory serves. I like the colour!

I would not trust V5 for model designation. 2019 D5 HSE Lux SDV6 Indus

I think this car will be 2008.5MY and they changed the alloys as per my above post by then, I know cos I was annoyed mine being a 2008MY only just missed out. Discovery 4 HSE

That will be Lucerne Green which replaced Giverney Green. Aspen green leather was only offered with a few colours and cherry or burr normally comes with Aspen.

A colour scheme which might suit the more stately gentleman. Whistle Discovery 4 HSE

Cost me £500 to have all my wood painted piano black, so don't let the cherry put you off too much !
