Spare light bulbs for driving in Switzerland/ France ?

I'm planning a trip to the alps, but I'm not sure that I want to spend £70 (from a quick search on fleabay) on a pair of spare HID bulbs for my MY06 - are they worth getting or are the HID's so reliable that you virtually never have to replace them ?

They won't go. Just have a cheap generic spare Bulb set in the car in case asked by the police.

Agree with above...

Cheapo Halfrauds set will do as which foreign cops gonna take your bulbs out and check?

I alway carry a set I bought years ago and don't know anyone that's been stopped and asked if they gave spare bulbs. TDV8 HST Sport **Current**

I didn't bother actually but I suppose I could have taken an old spare bulb set I bought years ago for an Audi. Who's to know?

Just keep your Hi-Viz vests easy to hand i.e. don't pack them in the spare wheel well and then pack the car Rolling Eyes Discovery 4 HSE

After losing a tyre on a French motorway last year, the hi-viz vests are in the door pockets !

Thanks for the comments though - much as I suspected !
