What do you use for your tyre shine ?

Spent all day polishing, and normally use the Turtle Wax clear tyre shine spray, which I am happy with, but doesn't last that long.......

What do the dealers use ? What can you buy in bulk ?

Is there some stuff you apply with a cloth as oppose to a spray ?

I'm normally a Zymol or Auto Glym man, but there must be a cheaper bulk dealer type way of getting a similar result on the tyres ?

I'm sort of thinking nothing that Halfrauds sells - more bulk dealer stuff, if you see what I mean.

Is that the right way to go ?

Turtle Wax "Nano" Gel lasts for ages.

Armour all tyre foam

Autoglym vinyl and rubber care liquid. I buy the trade gallon can at £30 a pop and decant into a trigger sprayer.

Little squirt and brush it round or just spray liberally for more shine. Very handy on all plastics and trim.

The Meguiar's Endurance gel is known for lasting long.

I'm currently using Gliptone's Tyre and Trim Jelly. It goes on a treat and lasts a number of washes - even beads water throughout a wash. Researching my first Range Rover purchase

I currently use both Meguiar’s tyre shines and must admit the Endurance gel does the trick, simply put a tiny bit on the dedicated foam applicator and wipe on. (I then wipe off for a satin finish I prefer). Their products are great in general, long lasting and affordable.
I use their polish and wax from their pro line, along with their dual action polisher and they are very nice to work with.

Swissvax Pneus it great for a classy subtle finish, but it is rather hard to find – simply order online then.

Before all this I had to bring back some Black Magic tyre shine (it smells like cherry, oh well…) bought from AutoZone, as there was no similar product in France!

As a matter of fact Meguiar’s has been distributed in France for about 2 years max, Autoglym about 6 months, that’s about it. So basically is was a matter of shopping from AutoZone or Halfords in the UK! I am talking before the Internet age, even though it doesn’t matter, as no one will ship such products across the pond anyway! l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

I use tyre art dressing. As long as you dont rub it off on a kerb, lasts for weeks.

Going back to Mark's original questions for a bit, I've no idea what the dealers use, but Trade stuff from the major manufacturers (such as Autoglym Trade products as I mentioned) is good value and saves buying lots of bottles as long as you provide your own.

Many years ago, I was speaking to a car valeter and asked him how he got such good results on his tyres and trim and it was him who pointed me in the direction of the Autoglym Trade range and specifically the Vinyl and Rubber Care product. Back then I used to go to a trade wholesaler, but eBay these days is my friend.

Cloth application? Not convinced it'd ever work on the rough surface of a tyre sidewall unless you've very smooth rubber there. Certainly, the Michelin rubber that my FF wears better suits a spray or a brush. The brush is more sparing and handy for all plastic trim and gives a more satin look. I learnt this trick from another car valeter. That said, I do use a cloth for smooth plastic trim, such as the A, B and C pillars. Better results than a brush or spray for that material.

Prices are generally better online.
