I've got it connected into the TV Aux in pins on the FF from the RCA output of the Raspberry. So far so good. Thanks to Navcoder and TV on the move setting, I can see this whenever I want...

Let's see how far I can get with it - I keep thinking of new uses for it - but not sure if it will be powerful enough for any of them! Nice so far though, as all solid state, so no discs to get mangled over bumps. I've got audio and run a stripped down version of XBMC on it - and can see video and hear audio...

I'm now wondering if it will be powerful enough to run windows in a VM... Then I could set up RAC and Navcoder on it too... |

The only real way for using the Front Unit controls is to use the resler interface, then you can interact with the ibus (not the canbus) and emulate key presses with the buttons. I used openbm to talk to the ibus. See my ICE thread on here. Have also written my own user interface in bash/yad to handle all this. .

I was hoping you'd be along shortly - the fact I've got this far is thanks to a lot of the info from your thread.

You could use reverse networking with an android phone/tablet that works as a wifi hotspot and connect to the PC that way, this would mean you could use the "XBMC Remote" app to control XBMC on the PI. (Not sure if things have improved and you can connect an android to a PC running its own network yet?). I had the former working well. .

That's a thought, but I'm going to try to make it work as part of the car controls as much as possible. |

Doh! I have just realised, because you are using the AV input you are probably out of luck (without some serious hacking and maybe even hardware revisions on the Bord Monitor) because any button presses will be in the AV mode on the bord monitor. You may have better luck with a remote control.... .
