Oops...

I met up with Contraband when I was through in St Andrews working in July, we went for a coffee and had a chat and as per norm got onto the subject of our FFRRs. Contraband was telling me of the terrible thudding noise his was making when the steering was turned and we went to investigate. Unfortunately I could not find the source of the noise but suggested next time he was in Glasgow to give me a call and I would stick his FFRR on the ramp.

So today was the day and Contraband arrived and I stuck his FFRR up in the air, after a bit of head scratching and lots of wondering I managed to pinpoint the source of the noise. Contraband had changed the lower front suspension links 18 months ago and never tightened the bolts up properly (I actually think his good lady did the work while he was watching the football) so with a few turns of the bolts everything is quiet again in the Contraband FFRR

So make sure your nuts are tight, I would hate for your balljoints to fall off

Tight nuts, get the money out tight are5e, I only charge half Stratstones prices Whistle

It is actually very clean underneath, just some surface rust on the subframes. Wish I had taken a picture under the bonnet though, looks like been through more than a couple of puddles Shocked

Glad it's all quiet again CB, does the steering feel any different?

I was surprised how much crap was in there. It was full of flies and leaves. I blasted it it from the other side with air. I'm glad you suggested taking the cover off because it actually looked ok from the outside. Thumbs Up Previously..
