Still hovering around 69p at both the Calor Centre and at Carefree at Factory Lane, Penwortham Preston. There is two suppliers on this site, one being Calor, the other being Kellets/Carefree. The good thing about Kellets pump is 24hr availability as it is unmanned; you pay by debit/credit card at the pump.

Last year, the price dropped back in the summer to 66p, apparently the demand for LPG drops for home heating and causes a glut on the market...... with two suppliers within 100yds of each other, market forces come into play.

Last time I spoke to a contact in the LPG business, mid 2010, the bulk litre price for LPG at 30k/litres was just 28p/litre. Thats before Road fuel duty or VAT, etc, but I think there is still a good margin on the fuel for those who care to retail it.

Still makes me smile when I fill up tho....

Steptoe, are you sure those figures are right? That is 14.6 p per mile or the equivalent of 45 mpg if petrol is taken to be £1.45 per gallon. That's excellent!

That's the total mileage on the trip meter which was zeroed at the LPG fill up on saturday morning, and how much it cost to fill up the LPG tank on the return on sunday afternoon. The cars OBC consumption figure for the trip read 25.8 mpg.
Take into account the petrol used when starting from cold on the sunday mornbing, which takes a couple of minutes at most before it switches to LPG.

That's very little driving in heavy traffic, and i doubt i went above 70 mph at all even on the M40, mostly bimbling around at 50-55mph. . I've a motorbike if i want to satisfy any speed urges. Very Happy .

I used to have a Jeep Cherokee 4ltr straight 6 which only used to average 14-16 mpg even when driving on eggshells.

Wow, even taking the petrol warm up period that's still 40mpg at least and even 25mpg on petrol is amazing. Never got mine over 20!

Bow down Bow down Thumbs Up

63p is what we pay in Halifax. Ace Energy do it at 59p if you pay for £100 worth up front, but they do hold the price if it rises.
