I probably do around 9000 miles a year at the moment. But I'd always probably swing toward the cheaper to run as this is less likely to loose me money in the long run. I wouldn't want to take a more expensive car to run to begin with just because it's cheaper to buy in the first place.

I've heard the same storys about that engine in the RRS (regarding the valves seats on the supercharged engines)
