2017 Range Rover SVAutobiography 5.0 SC V8 Indus Silver
Bloody boring meetings & free Wi-Fi=costly.

There's another thread on here where a certain Mr. Doc tried to garner support for a group purchase of steering wheels/gearknobs in the latest design.

Seeing as no-one showed any interest and someone was whittering on about project forecasts I accidentally ordered a wheel/gearknob from DCC on eBay.

I found some install instructions- look easy enough, anyone else have any advice/ things to look for when they arrive before i fit them?

it's a MY2006 S/C with a shiny boring non-piano black steering wheel (for now)

Thanks all,

Thumbs Up

Yeah, total PoP. You need something like a longish 3 or4 mm Allen key to poke thru the small holes on the back ofthe steering wheel to release the airbag and a 16mm socket with a 6" plus extension. Oh and a 10mm spanner to disconnect the battery.

Ditch the battery and leave it for 10-15mins.

Pop the airbag off and disconnect the various plugs. Use masking tape on the plastic cowl and draw a locating mark around the outside of the wheel.

Undo the 16mm bolt and pull the wheel off.

Refit new wheel and make suitable aaaahh noise.

Refit plugs and push airbag until it clicks.

Reconnect battery and check all the buttons and heating still work.

Gear lever is just pop the base of the leather out and pull the knob ( remember I said THE not YOUR) upwards. Refitting is the reverse.

Hope it helps.

Sorry for rushed write up- in another boring meetig with iPhone!
