I want to protect the rear of the SC for when I go biking and need to put a dirty bike back in the boot.

I know LR do a load space protector but does anyone have one and can you tell me how well it fits, goes up the sides andif it's rigid or a rubber mat type affair?

Anyone have any other good options for rear load space protectors?

I've got the rigid plastic load liner, it's alright, but stuff slides about in the boot too easy as it's solid plastic, keep the carpet clean but a bit of a pain if you have to clean the boot out as it's quite bulky.

Really I need something that attachs to the rear tailgate to protect the carpet you've got vulnerable there and further up the sides to properly protect the carpeted areas.

Ideally it also needs to attach to the rear seats so a flat loadspace is protected when seats are down.

Aside from cutting some nylon/polyurethane sheeting or similar to shape - anyone found other good solutions?

wondering if there's some agricultural outlet or something that specialises in this stuff...

Was looking at something similar myself recently as we're about to get a dog.

I already have the rear rubber mat AND the rigid plastic bootspace liner but this is what I saw on ebay, not bad for the money, seller seemed very helpful too.

Look good but asked them if they work with the rear seats folded flat and they said no

Even the genuine LR loadspace protector that mirrors the above example does not cater for folded down rear seats so you might have trouble.

Mind you, the above ebay seller or one like it said to me they do custom ones too so I bet they could easily make it. Discovery 4 HSE

He said that some customers buy then get dry cleaners to unpick the rear seat section and add zips.

I'd want to add flaps that will protect the rear doors as well but it's possible so may go for it and then see how I need to modify it.

would you not be better getting a bike rack for the roof

carry i little stool in the boot to get up to it.

just that in my experience, bikes in the back of cars = something scratch, no matter how careful you are.

My Disco 2 1 on zips at the back and am sure the newer RR 1's do. Got them both off flea bay

The OEM Disco 3 laod space protector protected the tail gate when loading and the back seats in the upright and folded down postion. I never tried it on the FFRR but it may work. 2018 Range Rover Autobiography

@scotty Both the the MTB and my racing bike are both carbon fibre so I don't really want them up there if travelling, as I do, along motorways to get to where I'll be using them.

A decent load bay protector will protect it enough as long as it's comprehensively covered hence needing the flaps.

I've still got my Thule kit for the e39 I had so that may even fit on the RR (or bits of it) - there may be an occassion where I'd need to carry more stuff.

All that said if it doesn't and I sell the roof rack then the easiest option would be a tow bar cycle carrier

I've used this rubber matting http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/...m-1220mm-x in the rear of my Defender and it's robust and easy to clean. Given the 5m length you have enough to cover the folded down seats.
