Admiral just sent me my multicar quote for the next year. 4 cars, inc. one insured directly for 18yr old daughter.

Pain in the ass every year joe but you are doing it right I end up changing nearly every year to the best quote only thing I do is stick with a named company because M Mouse insurance brokers might have folded if I prang it!! Mine was a blue one! |

Admiral wanted more to add the other halfs new Fiat 500, to a multi car policy for the remaining ten months, than it was for a seperte (12month) single car policy. The bizarre thing was they were the cheapest single car policy?

Just going through the same thing myself. Renewal Quote for 4 cars on a Equity Red Star Multicar £1315. Have been on three different multicar policies over the last 5 years and they worked for me up til now. But a couple of hours with the Meer Cats and Opera Tenor and I had them all individually down to a total of £703 across 4 different insurers. Amazing price differentials. One place offers best price on one car but then a daft price on another even as an individual car not a multicar. When I went multicar, the individual insurances had risen to over £1300 and the broker did the lot for £800. In five years the situation appears to have have reversed! Have passed the info back to the broker to see if he still wants to play, but I suspect I'll be shown the door. PITA to have to go through it every year though. Mike - MPx

Being a curmudgeonly old Simes these days - when I get the renewal and (as always it's gone up) I do the get a million quotes from elsewhere thing, and when (as they often do) the orginal insurer offers to match it, or even get a bit nearer to it I always now tell them to shove it.

As above with Simes, but i found on my last renewal with a change of address thanks to the skank, without her on my insurance dropped £50, but the renewal was still more than a new policy from admiral so i let them price match but fibbed and said i had a quote from some obscure place for £20 less. They matched that and im a happy bunny Dont be afraid to cut some off other quotes to drive down your current insurance premium FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

My mother got her renewal from direct line for £540 so I did the comparison checks and found a few companies including Privilege offering the premium of only £270! She called DL and they said the best they could do was £470. Oddly enough Privilege is the same company as Direct Line so it seemed a bit odd that they would not match.

I had a similar renewal experience with Admiral military car - individual quotes came back cheaper - in my case they were all Admiral or Diamond (owned by Admiral) so ended up with individual policies for less than the multi-car ! |
