Of selling large items on ebay and not accepting paypal or allowing a courier to pick the goods up , as over the last couple of weeks i have tried to buy alloys but the sellers tell me no paypal and cash on collection most of them are way down south , yet i have followed their auctions over the days , and they don't sell yet they re-list them .. so am i missing something obvious here ….

Guys if I can help let me know as it irks the hell out of me but it's not just PayPal it's the eBay fees as they will then cancel the sale as well so avoiding fees and the ability to leave negative feedback but each reliant is about 40p so not much overall compared to the fees if you released about 30 times... I think I was pretty lucky there, a chap up north had some wheels I was after, contacted him, asked him if he would be ok if I sent a courier to collect them, he said ok.

But the cost of the courier is borne by the buyer not the seller so how does that keep the price down ....

Because of the hassle involved in collecting... If you offer postage on eBay you will normally make a 30-50% better selling price than if you have collect only as you limit your market... Craig |
