Start with the easy obvious items first. Brake switches are not expensive so worth changing even just for piece of mind

FINAL UPDATE............ match and a gallon of petrol ................lol


car now runs and brake lights off with key out happy days

problem was the ignition switch contacts took apart plenty of switch cleaner and wd40 grease in the lock and bobs your uncle.

many thanks to all who have given advice


just got to put the interior back together now Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
then a good test run(any excuse to go on a long drive lol)

pete have hawkeye diagnostics for l322 td6 in the manchester area ,pm for deatalis.
