Very peed off. Firstly, the DVD would play a couple out of the six slots, but not all (and not always the same ones), then to compound the issue I can now see that somehow, the changer has managed to get two DVDs at once stuck together half way between the payer and the stacker cassette.

No-one will even look at it. They just say, sorry, it's a fibre optic system specific to Range Rover, we'll just take it out and send it off.

It's not a fibre optic issue though. It is just having someone that can extract the two bloody DVDs so that at least I can have one working for our seven hour trip to Cornwall with the children next weekend.

Anybody know anyone within a reasonable distance of Harrogate that could take a look please. Don't fancy a main dealer bill.

The only message on the screen is, understandably now, mechanical error.

where is the DVD player mounted? can you remove it? i am no expert but more than willing to have a go if it helps you out.

my cd player in my last Disco used to jam all the time. pain in the ass as it was mounted under the drivers seat, but had it in and out and cleared quite a few times. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Thank you for the offer but I wouldn't have a clue how to take it out. It is going in to my usual mechanical guru on Monday who is also an electronics engineer so hopefully he will be able to sort it out.

I was just hoping that there may be someone a bit closer but it appears not.

how did you get on with the dvd player? where do you take your car? it would have been no problems to help you out, i work in Harrogate!!

Hello Stu - I took it over to my engineer friend who looks after all my cars and is much cleverer than I. It is unjammed and, I have put a head cleaner through it but now it just doesn't read any of the DVDs.
