Dec 2006 4.2 SC Vogue SE (2007MY)

Hi,

I'm considering selling my facelift 4.2SC. in cairns blue with 62k miles on it. Full history. I'm not sure what kind of money I should be asking for it, but I've been offered 19.5k for it in px against a 21k car, so I guess privately it's got to be worth 21k?

It also has 6 months left on a transferrable warranty wise £800 comprehensive warranty for peace of mind.

Any ideas/interest etc?

I'll get some picutres up later (I'm sure you know the spec, so not much point in putting that!)

Cheers,

Paul.

buyers market at the moment paul, thats a good price IF someone wants that particular model and year...you could take the p/x price and then there's no hassle or hope that someone comes along and buys privately but that's a waiting game and i would expect the punter to want some cash off your asking price.. ... - .- -.

I'd say that's a great part ex price. Snap his arm off!

Parkers (which is often a bit over Glasses Guide price) list the 56 plate 2007MY as folllows -

Original Price. £74,910
Franchised Dealer. £21,155
Independent Dealer. £20,340
Private Good. £19,120
Private Poor. £15,815
Part Exchange. £16,880

The prices above are based on a mileage of 50,000 (average for age).

I have a black with black (easiest colour to resell) 2007 (07) with everything (RSE etc) and I have 75k on the clock and was offered £17k part ex.

Despite the above numbers, should you decide to sell privately I'd be aiming for £20k minimum (just my opinion).

Not sure if that helps, but good luck with the sale. Thumbs Up Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

The cheapest facelifted S/C I can find with comparable mileage to yours is this one http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3967878.htm - and Saxtons are renowned for being at the top end money-wise.

You need to hope for an educated buyer too. There are boat loads of non-facelifted 2006 cars about for peanuts. Like this example with only 49k on the clock for £17,500 pre-haggle!

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/4158733.htm

If someone doesn't understand about the improvements made to the 2007MY car then they'll just see two 2006 Supercharged RRs and think that yours is expensive.

Not teaching you to suck eggs but if I were selling privately I'd spell out the differences for the uneducated in my advert. There's a cracking article you can copy and paste from here - http://www.rangerovers.net/modelspecs/L322/2007.html Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

Just had a 14.5k p/x offer on a 2007 MY07 4.4 petrol vogue with same mileage against a 32k car- not impressed Evil or Very Mad 19.5k for yours sounds pretty reasonable..

That said, I might get a bit more selling privately but could take a while to sell and may lose out on the new motor in the meantime...

All really depends if you think the new car is worth the extra cash you need to stick in or not...if its a belter then is it worth losing out on for the sake of a grand or so? What value do you place on your time dealing with tyre kickers and idiots in the hope that someone comes up with the cash your asking..more likely you'll end up knocking off a couple hundred to get the deal as well as the cost of advertising and you end up not far from your p/x offer..

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black

Rip all their limbs off, not just their arm!!

Glass guide is £18k trade and £21k retail; most trade would want to buy at £1k-£2k behind those figures and a further £1k at least for it being Cairns blue (which ranks @6th in desireability).

As you say there is the difference in MY but most buyers don't know or care for the differences - I have just seen an 05 05 with 55k sell for £13,500 and an 06 55 with 86k for £12,500; that's a hell of a smoker for minimal money!

The thing is I don't really want to put any money to another car, I just fancy a change. So I'll have a go at selling it privately.
