Stratstone Nottingham. Great again

Time for an oil service on the TDV8.

Always ring my local dealer in case they have anything up their sleeve (Marshall Melton Mowbray). They quoted £519.

I usually get 3 quotes but I just rang my favourite dealer Stratstone Nottingham (always deal with Sam Wahey or Steve Tait, or if they are busy, Steve Widdowson, service mgr).

They quote me happy at £329. Job done. Thumbs Up

I think I'm lucky to have a good relationship with them, they know I want them to have a sharp pencil, but I don't mess them about and the work is good. Have used them pretty exclusively since 2005.

Well done Chaps. All other dealerships take note. RESPECT your customer, they know lots of stuff about their car and don't treat them like idiots.

Car goes in tomorrow, they are picking it up and dropping off. A 1 day lead time! Perfect. Discovery 4 HSE

That's good to know Adam. Not that far from me either. I used to use Trinity until they lost the franchise, then tried Salmon in Coventry. All fairly mediocre and not open to haggling either. Now use Stratstone Solihull who are OK, but only because I know the DP personally.

Think I'll give them a go this time. Mind if I quote your price ??

Cheers

Dom

I must admit after a poor start six years ago where they messed me around on a warranty fault, they have now really impressed me. Always discount parts and servicing, you book through a faceless call centre but they will discount and price match, it's easy to haggle over the phone too. They have done my MOT for free for the last three years, when they sent me the flier I thought this was a joke, booked it in expecting , sorry sir it's failed and needs £2k spending on it, imagine my absolute shock with them ringing for the last three years saying its all done, washed, presented with a new ticket and an invoice with £0 on it! It does nt seem fair on them! They will also happily fit non genuine parts where they think they are as good as genuine and cheaper to keep the price down. My view has always been its a complicated car and whilst they were fairly new when i got mine, i was nt prepared to pay for an Indy to learn the L322 on my tab, now the dealers often are as cheap as the Indy, will discount, give you a nice loan car etc. they even do 15mins free diagnostics, which means they plug it in, tell you and you go off to decide what to do! Some dealers are working hard to keep older cars in the network. 2012 4.4TDV8 VSE
