Oh- and the other thing I forgot to mention yesterday: gutting the old monitor for the switch controller/switches and using these in the new monitor housing. Theoretically, this leaves enough options as you have many more buttons - and you're still on iBus. The silly part is, the LCD controller and switch interface are all on one big board. Space-wise you shouldn't have a problem though. Plenty of room behind the new monitor. Alternatively, this guy made his own switch interface as he completely rebuilt the old monitor: http://web.comhem.se/bengt-olof.swing/button_electronics.htm There is also a thread on MP3car on this. He sold the switch interface to a couple of others on the board. It was considerations like his that kept me with the old monitor and a touch screen overlay. I have to get back to work on that too, btw. It's running on the bench - been that way for a year tho... RRC 2Dr, RRC 4Dr, P38, and 2 L322s (wife thinks I'm nuts - prob right, too) |

Also worth checking what Art Tevs has been doing. He replaces the non touch screen with a better screen and fits his own PCB into the bord monitor. So no touch screen but better button control

hi davetrees, Matt has managed to get it loaded now, not sure what the prob was, i have been working with Matt on the project and it was the buttons that had stopped the progress until we came across your video, any way well done super work, just finished my screen conversion,i used the Samsung screen, very happy with the quality.

I haven't seen the inside of the 2010 switches but I would imagine they are very similar to others I've looked at,

i have been chasing an interface box that i was told about that lets you programme to listen for the can bus messages and when it heres them it outputs the pre-programmed ibus message, but i have not found it as yet,i ave changed my steering wheel for the 2010 and fitted the paddle shifts but really wanted the 2010 switches to finish it of,

Matt! This is awesome! Any more up-to-date info on the project? I'd be very interested in a parts list and if you have a beta (or not-so-beta) version of your software. I have the same year RR so I'm very interested in getting something like this installed in it! Thank you in advance for any info you can provide. |
