Ah, I see what you mean now.

What I like about having chunkier tyres on is the additional tread depth you get for running along tracks where road tyres and sometimes lower depth at tyres can get caught out with sharp objects digging into the tyre.

MT in the snow is something that depends on the snow. Cold icy conditions then winter stuff like the vreds are far better.Deep snow and I think the chunkier win out. V8 or else ...

When it gets deep, the chains come out anyway

If it gets to the stage were I need chains then I'll just stay in front of the wood burner for the day.  

It's got my car back from the garage and checked.


My tyres are 275/45/20

Not 55 as previously thought. So I think you would have fitting issues with 55s
