Heatshot - Heated washer jet system great price

The Heatshot is an aftermarket system that creates a reserve of hot water in your washer system so when you need to clear ice bugs the warm water speeds up the process.

Also looks cool in winter when your jets release water and steam to clear the windscreen in super quick time!

These normally go for about £175-£200.

£99 plus £10 delivery.

Seem to have good reviews and great for clearing the windscreen in winter and summer. I've ordered one, looks simple for installation.

Well the older cars might not have the heated water reservoir system in place, I have no idea if mine has heated washer heads, but the water will still be cold, at least with this one the water his hot which would make a big difference in clearing.

If the new RRs have this as standard then great, but I am sure it would cost a fair bit more than £100 to retrofit. Tom

Well it is 50 degrees so not boiling and it seems to work well according to lots of reviews on Defender and Discovery forums.

Here is one with lots of Q&As

http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/heatshot.htm

I take it that the heated washer jets just stop the nozzles freezing. This system would work in addition to it, so that the ice or muck clears with fewer wipes.

It makes sense, as glass always clears better with warm as opposed to cold water. Tom

Ok guys, I understand that all of you with 10-30 minutes on your hands can prep the car with the FBH and heated screen. But in my experience, if I need to suddenly use the car and don't have time to wait then the FBH and heated screen are far too slow.

Anyway, I really want steaming nozzle jets. Laughing Tom

To be honest it won't be 50'c when it hits the screen so should be fine and the heated elements do the same, col screen quickly being heated above 0'c same affect really Smile

New screens resist this so much better as just think how cold it gets outside at speed yet how warm the screen on the inside is with hot air hitting it on one side and freezing air at say 70mph hiring the other side...

On cars without heated windscreen or fbh I've always used luke warm water to melt the screen and put some heat into it and then on the washers if frozen as that bit of extra heat in the glass helps for the first few miles until the engine is warmed enough Smile

It will be fine Thumbs Up FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

You'll all be jealous as I steam past you.....

I think it will be fine, and it is not a huge outlay for another gadget. Tom
