could anyone point me in the right direction for instructions on how to fit front mud flaps on 08my including removing small panel behind front wheels. The land rover instructions are a little short on verbal explanation

not what you want to hear, but I looked at this and decided against it when I found you had to drill the body pannels

removing that small lower panel is easy.

Take a look at the side vent instructions for how to remove.

After finally managing to fit the rear mudflaps on mine, I managed to gently lever out the bottom part of the small panel as per the earlier photo. However, the top seemed to be still firmly attached to something and it was getting dark - so I decided it was safer to ask on here than get the spade out for more leverage ...

The LR fitting instructions just indicate the a pull is required - is this true ?

I took the easy option and negotiated a price with the local stealer

After receiving the car back I used it for a week;then at the weekend washed the car and found that they had not aligned the two front panels correctly causing the front doors to rub on the front panels.

Back in today for installing correctly and paint  2021 L405 Westminster P400e

From memory mine had a single bolt clamping the top edge of the lower panel to the wing - located in the top front corner of the lower panel.

You can just about get to it when you pull the wheel arch liner out of the way. You just need to undo it a bit to release the panel as it's slotted.

This was on my '04 RR, I'm guessing this hasn't changed on later models...

The bolt is for the vent/Gills......

No, I meant the other bolt in RRUK's photos, the one in front of the grills on the front wing. This needed loosening on mine before the lower panels would come free...

OK I guess the owner tightened the bolt over the panel clip.

Good point - probably over-tightened by a previous owner when the side steps were fitted to mine.

I re-tightened them when I finished fitting my mudflaps recently... I wondered why it wasn't in the
instructions.

I think that I have the same problem - mine definately don't pull off (the lower two catches lever off with a large screwdriver) - although they might lever off using a garden spade. However, I'm going to try undoing the bolt before resorting to the spade !

I had to loosen a bolt on mine at the top of the panel, think it was 10mm, I accessed it by pulling back the wheel arch liner immediately next to the panel. Bit of a struggle but brute force won out without damage.
