I've not seen the RR Brembos up close and live (have them on my Porsche though ) but bleed nipples must always go up - al least they do if you actually want the air out of the system...

OK, I think I understand. After doing a number of brake conversions on Porsches - have not felt the urge to on RRs yet (although an emergency stop from 100+MPH as I had on the 'bahn this past week def showed weaknesses in the 2.6t TD6 RR's brakes) - I can say that generally Brembo calipers have 2 criteria determining 'handedness': 1 and the primary being the relation of the smaller piston in 4 or 6 piston calipers to the location of the mounting flange/direction of rotation (smallers always lead) and 2 being the location of fixed bleed nipples. The smaller piston in relation to the mounting flange determines L or R. In calipers with an open line between the caliper halves, bleed nipples can be swapped with the connecting line to compensate for a fore/aft location of the calipers to locate the bleeds up. Fixed bleeds mean a fixed location fore or aft.

ok how about the mounting on the caliper are always inboard to the car so if you hold the caliper to the car on the drivers side and the mountings are at the innermost to the car if the bleep nipples are top its a drivers side but if the nipples are at bottom its a pass side very simple description but should be usefull onto no6 Range Rover

ok, let me start again..i bought a single new brembo calliper from a s/c rangerover, it has the bleed nipple with it but not fitted so it could go at either end, looking at the back it symmetrical they is no differences,i.e bumps, knobs, part numbers of castings so with the bleed nipple not fitted it could go on ether side V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Don't you have 2 nipples - inside and outside? Brembos are generally not 100% vehicle specific - which means the nips can be mounted either or to adapt to the mounting location.
