Olympic opening ceremony

Hit or miss? Most of my friends on Facebook are very negative in their reviews on the opening ceremony..
Personally, I thought the industrial revolution bit was genius. Previously..

Load of Censored ! Waste of time and effort and £££. The chinease well out did us in every way last time. Only good bit was the Olympic flame! Awesome engineering. The build up never flowed an was like something Stevie Wonder put together. My opinion personally. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

Well, I was sick of hearing about it all weeks ago, like putting Christmas decorations up in the shops in July. Way too early.

Now its on, its made it much easier to pick what I'm watching on TV, as I just have to avoid all the BBC channels.

UK Sport has set Team GB a goal of 48 medals, 1 more than in 2008. If the figure is reached, it will mean that each medal would have cost £10.4 million in government and lottery funding.

Last night I caught up on some TV and watched 4 episodes of Top Gear USA and Gordon Ramsey cooking in a prison, which was a bit of a disappointment, as I thought he'd been sentenced.........

Seriously though, I wish Team GB every success after all the hard work they have put in.

I just don't want to know about it every 2 minutes. Which is what it seems like.

Thankyou.

I was sceptical at first with all the hype. But once it started on TV I thought it was refreshingly different.

Nothing will be perfect, and I thought the NHS bit was odd and it did seem to focus rather a lot on ethnic diversity, but at least the whole event was tongue in cheek and had a bit of a sense of humour.

It is difficult to be everything to everyone, and China had a huge point to prove along with the wealth, cheap labour and tricks.

I think the London ceremony was a great success and was the most original I have ever seen. Tom
