To quote the manual:

"You can display the average consumption for two routes Eg for the entire journey and for a section of it."

Basically one is for the journey since the ignition was started, the other for you to reset as you wish should for instance while in town you want an exact figure but not want to reset the main journey counter.

You can enable instant MPG from the hidden menu on the binnacle - but it only shows it on the binnacle and is a bit of a mission.

I reset Cons1 at every fill and leave Cons2 untouched. This way, I see what I'm getting from a tank and what I've achieved since the car was new. Cons1 is the same as I see on the LCD. There is no 'instant' MPG on a TDV8 unless you keep pressing the reset button every few seconds. Rolling Eyes The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

and you can edit the computer readings you see in the binnacle by pressing the indicator stalk button and holding it until the Nav screen changes to show all the options = NB This is for the touch screen interface. Discovery 4 HSE
