Slightly more seriously only a bit
Anybody recommend a petrol station in or around Dunkirk or on the Paris road thats easily accessible with a van on the back?
or a cheap one near Dover?

curiously the garage just on the way out of the tunnel was pretty cheap for derv and pretty much all of the autoroute services are fairly negotiable with a van attached, just make sure that you pick a good edge pump and not one in the centre.

Curious about the GTW over 3.5t having to show 90 kmh stickers. I was aware of this but to me it seems daft. a focus with a caravan on the back can bowl along at 80mph but a rr with a small trailer would be limited to 50. Bleeding idiots. Would a large 4x4 with a moderate caravan attached not be more stable at speed? Of course.

I think it is aimed at drivers of large saloons or estates, which i have seen on the continent with very large vans attached, but the ruling also applies to us, c'est la vie.

rant over.

sorry,

Have a good time. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I'll have a Thule bike rack on the back, but nothing up top. It looks like there are two types of lane.... One <2m (which I'll sneak under) and one >2m. It refers to class 1 and class 2 here https://www.saneftolling.co.uk/how-does-it-work

James Thumbs Up

Update
Got there and back and a nice time was had by all BUT and you know there was going to be one. Home to Dover fine no problems messages etc. Get off ferry air suspension fail!! Keep calm carry on, 650 miles later arrive still with fault. Drive around for a couple of days then when coming out of supermarket its down on front bump stops Big Cry
Start it up if lifts to normal height and resets Banging Head Banging Head no more problems for two weeks!
Depart to port 650 miles no problems again on Ferry off at Dover on to M20 Transmission failsafe!!!!!!!! WTF stop start give it half an hour no change keep calm carry on, all the way home in fourth gear. Sweaty palms check it over no obvious faults full of transmission fluid still showing message when trying to go into fifth gear left it.nipped diy late on no fault. Last desperate grasp at straw put it on charge all night so try again later. We could hear a car alarm on the ferry and wonder if it was the FF and that plus the drain of the caravan fridge car fridge dvd players l pods and aircon has depleted the battery. If not its off to the gear box specialist Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Mine was a blue one! Smile
