...I hesitate to call it a problem, because I'm not sure it is a problem as such!

Anyway, this is what it's doing. When I get in the car and start the ignition, the in-car system automatically uses my phone to dial out. I have to stop it otherwise my husband gets phoned every time I go anywhere, which is a bit disruptive when he's trying to work.

If I use the phone while I'm driving, no problem - the system switches back to CD operation when the call is closed.

But if I use it with the car stationary, the system switches back to CD but the CD player is paused, and no amount of faffing will get it to play again. I can use voice controls (not the buttons) to load a new CD, or I can use the buttons to select radio, TV and everything else, but the CD player still remains resolutely paused until I get out, lock up the car and then unlock everything and get back in. Then it all works as though nothing has happened.

I know the car had a new phone module at some point within the last couple of years, could this be causing a problem? Or is it a feature of the car?

Thanks for any advice! As long as it's not hideously expensive, in which case please don't tell me.

Ooh, there's a thought - it's a Samsung Galaxy SIII. It didn't do it with my HTC Desire, now I come to think of it...

How did you fix it? I've got a spare phone, maybe I should leave that one in the car and leave the SIII at home...

Is it calling the last person you spoke to, or the first person in the list?

I fixed mine by downgrading the firmware on my Blackberry! It also did it with a Nokia, but it was always the first contact in the phonebook, so I simply made the first contact a non-existent number.

On the SIII it is probably a setting in the Bluetooth options. Land Rover Addict

Mine was doing this recently with my iPhone 4 I think I just cleared my recent call list and that stopped it ,any way hasn't done it in a while so something worked but I think it must be the car because so many different phones do it . 2008 MY Supercharged

try clearing the bluetooth saved profile and re-connecting to the car.

this will clear any background settings in the car and phone pairing.

Now here's a thing. I've managed to stop it calling the last person I phoned by simply leaving the phone at home a few times. It tried both times to call out, but when it couldn't it gave up and just got on with what it was meant to be doing. When it stopped doing that, I took the phone out with me again and it's fine now.

I've noticed that the CD locking in pause thing only happens if the engine is off. If I initiate a call with the engine running and turn it off mid-call, or if I make a call with the engine off, the CD player locks up. If I keep the engine running while I make a call and then hang up with the engine still running, it allows the CD player to keep playing!

Temperamental little sod.
