looked on rave and it seems that the dash has to come out and then the steering column..big job .. ... - .- -.

Yes - I'm being lead to believe this is a 4 hour job to get to the part, and then another 4 hours to put it back together again!!!

probably asking the obvious but have you dis-connected/re-connected the battery and done a left to right turn.. ... - .- -.

Update - friend who is a main dealer LR mechanic has told me the steering column can come out without taking whole dash out... waiting for more info! (and some help!!! ) l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

It is indeed - more so because everything I had read on various sites/forums had said this was a dash out job! Also, people are apparently being quoted 8 hours of labour to get this done (4 to take dash out, 4 to put it back in again!) l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

Had mine replaced at specialist 2 years ago. Part £169, Labour 3 hours £120 Not Galway but Balmoral green actually

I could not get those top 2 hidden bolts back , I was sore from croaching and trying to get access to them. It must be nibble bodied person job, I resorted to pulling the dash a part, not that hard a job and made install the steering column bolts easier. I can see how to do it the short cut method and it would have worked if I could get the 2 upper bolts in. |
