Watching DVD on non touch screen

Can anyone advise what is the easiest and cheapest way of doing this? Mine is the non touch screen (54 car) and I've just upgraded to a Mk4 nav system. I'm not too bothered at having lost TV now we've gone digital but it would be very cool if I could play DVDs on the front screen to occupy the kids.

I'd also (gasp) like to be able to watch it on the move and for the sound to come through the main car speakers if at all possible.

If you hang on another day or 4, I should be able to give some options here as well: vid in, reverse cam, DVBT, USB (movie library on an external HDD) & more

All using the original controls (no extra remotes or switches floating around the car).

Thanks Steve, will do.

I've just bought a Mk4 Nav online, that should be delivered by middle of next week. The jobs on my list actually include sorting out the reverse camera and this DVD thing. Will be interested to hear.

Not as clever as what SteveMfr appears to have up his sleeve but:

Oh I thoroughly disagree! Joe's setup is the ultimate cool way to go. Actually, despite having all this stuff, I'm still working on my own car PC - albeit very slowly. But it does take time,
