First question - why Jailbreak if you don't know what you want to do

Second - do you have any banking apps on your iPhone - if so, you now find they won't work. Best plan - jailbreak your spare iPhone and play on that  Land Rover Addict

Secure banking apps will refuse to run on Jailbroken phones (Barclays for one) for good reason. Once you jailbreak it... if it was in my house I could SSH onto it and bingo

Bit worrying that the Natwest one isn't aware....however.

Music etc, use iTurd (I mean iTunes) - the Jailbreak if you used a good break like RedSnow should not have wiped your music at all.....

Free apps - google for the repository for installous .......get the version for your version of IOS. Land Rover Addict

I used absinthe to jailbrake and it was dead easy. I have no music as removed it before I jailbroke as wasn't sure what would happen. If I plug it into iTunes it will try and unjailbrake? What is a repository and installious? [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

you can use itunes, it will not reverse it unless you update, have you installed instalious and cydia... V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Yer just installed installious. Currently installing tomtom. I was trying to get another app but kept coming up API error? So I can still sync music etc but not update firmware? Update Cydia on regular basis as without this the base functions used will stop working
I either get my apps from Installous or direct from here- http://apptrackr.cd/ - you can download staright to computer and manage everything from there, drag and drop to itunes etc. Much faster than downloading to phone.
When you get a bit more advanced with its the use you can use Open SSH methods to view everything and manage the phone without using iTunes.

Best advice is if you have a jailbroken App that works fine, don't upgrade to a newer version if you don't need to (Installous will indicate updates available just as Appstore does).
